What to expect
First, we drive the short distance to Hohenschwangau, the gateway to Neuschwanstein. Next, a shuttle takes you up to Mary’s Bridge (Marienbrücke) for a stunning view of the fairytale castle.
After that, a short scenic walk brings us to Neuschwanstein itself. Inside, you’ll discover the story of Ludwig II—not the “mad king” of legend, but a genius king whose vision created this masterpiece. (Castle entry is a group tour, in line with the castle’s policy.) A horse-drawn carriage then brings us back down to the village.
Next, we visit Wieskirche, the “Church in the Meadow.” This UNESCO World Heritage site is a peaceful pilgrimage destination.
Then we stop in Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play, its wood carvings, and its painted houses. Here you can enjoy lunch, browse the shops, and soak in the village charm.
Finally, we reach Linderhof Palace, Ludwig II’s favourite home for over eight years. You’ll admire the opulent interiors, the majestic gardens, and the exotic Moorish Kiosk. (The Venus Grotto is temporarily closed.) After this serene stop, we return you to your hotel.

Fantastic Fun Tour
This is by far the best way at a reasonable price to have a great learning experience and get the most out of your time at Neuschwanstein. Amir makes it fun for everyone while creating a fun learning environment. He also will customize the tour and even add extras for his clients. Would do it again.
This tour is a winner
We had a great time on our tour of southern Bavaria. Our guide, Amir, managed to get us tickets to Neuschwanstein when we couldn’t get them ourselves online. He also helped us get booked on the English language tours at Neuschwanstein and Schloss Linderhof. (Actually, I think he sweet-talked the guide into changing the second tour to English, haha.) He was personable and knowledgeable, and made the day very enjoyable, even for our very skeptical teens. We learned more about the history of the area then we would have on our own.

We booked a tour to Neuschwanstein with a group and guide and enjoyed it very much. We (2 adults, 2 young kids) had all fun and learned a lot about king Ludwig.

Man merkt, dass der Guide für das Thema Neuschwanstein inklusive seiner Geschichte dahinter lebt & es von ganzer Seele aus liebt. Meines Erachtens präsentiert er das Thema noch besser als in der Führung Neuschwanstein selbst!

Just a magical day seeing castles I had always dreamed of visiting.
Was on holiday in Germany with my boyfriend. With the increased limitations on visitors to popular sites due to COVID, we thought it would be good to use a professional to ensure we could see what we wanted to see and have a good experience. We were not disappointed! Amir arrived at our hotel in Fussen right on time, we had a wonderful drive to the castles and he knew exactly where to go to avoid the chaos. Amir has an impressive amount of knowledge about the area and its history and is a ton of fun. I also think he knows everyone in the town! He was incredible. Also, we noted how many people couldn’t get in and were especially appreciative of Amir’s connections and our ease in navigating the castles, thanks to him.
We had a great time and will definitely use him for other tours when I am back in Germany.
Great tour with the family!
Amir was a super guide for our family tour of Neuschwanstein castle, Oberammergau, and Ettal Abbey. Pick up was right on time at our hotel, the van was very comfortable, and Amir was engaging and knowledgeable. We saw the castle, enjoyed lunch and shopping in Oberammeragu, and wrapped with a visit to Ettal Abbey. The hilight for our 8-year old daughter was the horse carriage ride!
The only thing that would have made the day better would have been more sunshine but Amir even had umbrellas!
We had a fabulous tour yesterday with Amir and learned about the interesting history of the castles, the local villages, and Ludwig II. The tour was very professional and Amir made sure everything was perfect for our day. He knew many of the workers at the castles which made access very easy without having to wait in line. He was SUPER knowledgeable and answered all of the many questions my family asked about the castles, Ludwig II, the ruling family, and Bavaria. We really enjoyed the background information he provided which was not available in the tour books or by the guides inside the castles. He has a good sense of humor and made the tour fun for my wife, three daughters (ages 18-22) and me. Everything in the tour is customizable and it was a fabulous day. I would highly recommend this tour and am thinking about another trip to this area as 2 days is not enough time to spend here. Füssen and the surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful, the food is delicious and the rich history is interesting. All the larger cities in Austria and Germany get the most attention but the little towns such as Füssen and Oberammergau are hidden treasures that are worth spending time in. Amir and this tour are amazing!!
