Where we meet you
We pick you up right at your hotel in Füssen. Are you arriving from somewhere else? Then we can also meet you directly in Hohenschwangau village, the gate to the royal castles.
What to expect
First, we drive just a few minutes from Füssen to the pretty village of Hohenschwangau. Next, we take the shuttle bus up to Mary’s Bridge. Here you get the postcard-perfect view of the castle.
After that, we head inside for your guided tour. Please note that the castle interior is visited as a group, in line with the official castle policy. Inside, you learn all about Ludwig II, the genius king of Bavaria (1864–1886). You also hear the story of the castle, which he built between 1869 and 1886.
Finally, we glide back down to Hohenschwangau by horse carriage. Then you can stroll around the shimmering Lake Alpsee. When you are ready, we drive you back in your private vehicle.

Tour Reviews
My tour was excellent. I went on the Neuschwanstein VIP skip the line tickets by Special Private Tours
There are over 20 types of tours/activities mentioned on Trip Advisor for seeing Neuschwanstein – which adds confusion to which tour to book! My review is intended to assist anyone who wants to book a tour to see this magnificent castle and learn about the story behind the King and his castle.
When we booked back in May we wanted a tour that gave us knowledge about the history of the castle, and its creator King Ludwig II, and we wanted to see inside the castle. We wanted to stay near the castle and avoid the long travel time by tours from saying Munich. The castle is located in the Schwangau area. We stayed in this area, and it was a 10-minute bus ride from where we stayed at the campground Camping Brunnen.
The tour we brought, titled above, gave us what we wanted and extra.
Amir, our guide, was excellent. His communication style and knowledge exceeded our expectations. We got THE photos and afterward I was keen to read up more about the King and his castle.
The tour started outside the castle, where Amir gave very informative, factual knowledge about the King based on evidence and circumstances. This dispelled many rumors of info circulating on various media platforms.
Amir took us to the best viewing points to take photos of Neuschwanstein castle, and also we viewed Hohenschwangau Castle from a viewpoint, and he spoke about the relationship between the 2 castles, and their importance in the present day. After hearing the information from Amir, we had 15 minutes before entering the castle for our audio device tour with another person, who simply took us through the rooms that the audio device spoke about. This is the only inside guide to the castle you can get. This is the beauty of this tour. From Amir, we had the information and context of the King and castle prior to entering the castle. So we were able to see inside with the audio talking about each room. The castle is vastly incomplete, in that more than 200 rooms are still in stages of completion or renovation. In total, we saw about 12 rooms, I can’t remember exactly. I would have liked to see more rooms and areas. What we saw was certainly fascinating and gave me a good impression of what we were told by Amir. The tour finished on the 4th floor, then we took the stairs back down to ground floor. Amir told us some extra public areas to visit when heading towards the exit of the castle interior, this was very useful to know. The interior part of the tour is run to military precision, absolutely no photo taking allowed.
I highly recommend this tour, especially the one where Amir is your guide!!
It was well worth it. It started at 9 am, where we met and took a bus up the hill to the tour start point. The tour ended at 12 noon, but we could have wandered more outside the castle if we wanted.
We felt it was time well spent on this tour, especially since we missed getting tickets last year – we didn’t plan sufficient time ahead. This time we booked in May 2019 to see the castle during peak season in August 2019. Some say it’s very touristy, but for me, the intrigue and fairy tale design and romanticism interior design of the castle is unique and well worth seeing.
The most useful part of the tour for us, in ascending order, was 1. Learning about the King and Castle from Amir, 2. Seeing the castle exterior from the viewing point, 3. Seeing the castle interior.
Amir, if you are reading this review, thank you from 2 appreciative kiwis, Diana and Mark.
OTTIMO
Abbiamo prenotato la visita “salta la fila” a Neuschwanstein e ci siamo trovati veramente molto bene.
Amir è molto preparato e simpatico e ci ha dato tutti gli strumenti per visitare al meglio lo splendido
castello. Consigliatissimo per famiglie, davvero un ottimo servizio.
Great private tour experience!
We planned to go to Neuschwanstein castle and the tickets and tours were completely sold out. Luckily, I contacted this company and Amir saved the day when he offered us a private tour to the castle with a horse carriage ride included. He is super knowledgeable and friendly and made our day very special and memorable. Absolutely recommended!
Fantastic tour of a marvelous place
Great tour, lots of interesting historical facts. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
The price was reasonable as well. The fog made things a bit difficult, but otherwise, it was an
awesome experience.
Neuschwanstein Castle Private Tour: knowledgeable and friendly guide Amir
The ticket to this tour was easy to purchase, directions to the meeting point were extremely clear, and the location was easy to find. The guide, Amir, was punctual, friendly. The tour was well-paced, and Amir was humorous and was knowledgeable about not only the castle but the history of the area as well. The cost of the tour includes the castle entry ticket. Group was 10 pax, nicely sized. Enjoyed the tour with Amir and would definitely recommend it!
